Where the site stands
This is not a rebuild conversation. The gap is structural content.
Sixty is a competent site. Design, speed, conversion path and SEO basics are all doing their job, and nothing on the card argues for tearing anything down. What holds the score at 60 is a single category: the site does not answer questions in a form a search engine or an assistant can quote. That is writing and markup, not a redesign, and it is the cheapest 11 points on this page.
Clean and readable on a phone. Five community brands sit inside one parent shell without confusion.
Solid, with one unresolved template variable in the footer template on every page.
The main line (336) 725-0202 is published, but a visitor still has to pick a community first.
937 keywords ranked, the widest footprint of the five nonprofits reviewed. The pages exist.
Lowest category by a distance. No FAQ section exists anywhere on the site.
Seventy-five years of history and one testimonial carrying it across five communities.
Measured, Semrush, 18 September 2026
What the search data says
You rank for about 937 searches and draw roughly 266 visits a month. You hold an FAQ result on none of them. Google writes its own AI answer on about 229 of those searches, and shows a People Also Ask box on 868. You run no paid search, so every one of those 266 visits is earned.
Three findings
What we found, in order of what it costs you
Each one is checkable on your own pages or in the Semrush pull behind this card. None of them calls for a redesign.
There is no FAQ section anywhere on the site
The evidence. We looked across the parent site and the five community sections and found no FAQ anywhere. Semrush shows 868 keywords where Google displays a People Also Ask box and 229 where Google writes its own AI Overview. ThriveMore holds an FAQ result on none of them.
What it costs. Five communities in five different North Carolina markets, and in each one the assistant answers instead of ThriveMore. A daughter in Concord and a son in New Bern are asking the same six questions: what does Assisted Living cost here, what happens when Mom needs Memory Care, how does Skilled Nursing differ from Rehabilitation, what does ThriveMore at Home actually cover, what is the waiting situation, what does faith-based mean day to day. Those answers are given on your phone lines every week and published nowhere. This is the AEO score at 4 out of 15.
The fix. One FAQ page per community at a stable URL, twelve to eighteen questions each, forty to fifty words per answer, written in the voice of the person who already fields the call. Mark each page up as FAQPage structured data so an assistant can quote it and attribute it. Start with Brookridge and Taylor Glen, the two largest markets, and template the rest.
Lifts: AEO 4 / 15 and SEO 12 / 20
The footer shows a template variable instead of a year
The evidence. On every page we opened, the footer renders this, exactly:
The template variable never resolved. Whatever should have substituted the year is not running, so the literal token is printing to visitors.
What it costs. Very little on its own, and that is rather the point. It is a five-minute fix and it appears on every page of a 75-year-old institution's website. A family comparing three communities at ten at night notices small things, and a copyright line that did not finish rendering reads as a site nobody is watching. We include it mainly as proof that a person actually looked at your pages rather than a crawler scoring them.
The fix. Resolve the variable in the footer template and verify it renders the current year on the parent site and all five community sections. Then add it to a quarterly check alongside the copyright year, phone numbers and any dated anniversary copy.
Lifts: Speed & tech health 11 / 15 and Trust 7 / 10
937 keywords ranked, about 266 visits a month
The evidence. The footprint is wide and the return is thin. 937 ranked keywords returning roughly 266 visits a month works out to well under a visit per keyword per month. For comparison inside this same batch, a single-campus community in Virginia ranks for a similar number of keywords and draws several times the traffic.
What it costs. That ratio says the pages exist but do not answer, which is the same root cause as finding 1. The keywords are earned at positions that never get clicked because the click is being satisfied above your listing. There is a second factor: five separately branded communities, Brookridge, Taylor Glen, Brice Pointe, Ardenwoods and Taylor House, dilute the parent domain. Each market builds its own small pool of authority instead of five markets compounding into one.
The fix. Two moves, in order. First, the FAQ work in finding 1, which converts existing rankings into answers worth clicking. Second, a deliberate internal linking spine so the five community sections cite the parent on shared subjects: care level definitions, the ThriveMore at Home service, the 75-year history. Let each community keep its local identity and its local pack presence while the shared explanatory content lives once, on the parent, and is linked from all five.
Lifts: SEO 12 / 20 and Conversion path 13 / 20
Sequence
A 90-day order of operations
Ordered so the cheapest points land first and nothing depends on a redesign. All of it can run inside the 75th anniversary year.
Fix the footer, write the first FAQ
- Resolve the currentYear variable and verify the footer on the parent and all five community sections.
- Draft 15 questions from what the (336) 725-0202 line and each community office already field weekly.
- Publish the first FAQ page for Brookridge with validated FAQPage structured data.
Template the other four communities
- Roll the Brookridge FAQ structure to Taylor Glen, Brice Pointe, Ardenwoods and Taylor House, with local answers, not copies.
- Add a care-level explainer on the parent covering all six levels including ThriveMore at Home, and link it from all five.
- Cross-link every community FAQ back to the parent explainer and forward to the local contact.
Put voices and measurement behind it
- Collect two resident or family quotes per community, with permission and care level named, to replace one testimonial doing all the work.
- Track AI Overview and People Also Ask appearances monthly against the 229 and 868 baselines on this card.
- Report the five communities side by side on one view, so a question asked once is answered five ways.
Context we worked from
What the public pages already tell us
Five communities, five markets
Each one is separately branded and sits in a distinct North Carolina search market, which is why the 281 local pack keywords matter and why the parent domain carries less weight than it should.

Six care levels, all published
The full continuum is named on the site. Six care levels across five communities is thirty natural question clusters, and today none of them is marked up as an answer a search engine can lift.

Worth 30 minutes?
Tatum, the score lands exactly on the line where we stop recommending rebuilds, so we are not recommending one. The question is narrower: whether 75 written answers and one footer fix are worth a quarter of attention, and what five-community reporting would look like once they are live. We built a demonstration board for exactly that question, using illustrative numbers and your real community and care-level structure.
